MEET OUR PRINCIPALS

Jesse Newman

 Head of Underwriting & Asset Management

Jesse brings nearly a decade of multifamily real estate finance expertise to Maverick Investment Group (MIG), where he oversees underwriting, financial analysis, and asset management. He is also a Vice President at First Citizens Bank and has independently underwritten and closed $200+ million in bridge and construction financing. His prior experience at Bank of America and Freddie Mac sharpened his skills in managing the full lifecycle of multifamily transactions, including in-depth analysis of rent rolls and complex cash flow models. He utilizes this same skillset for MIG and ensures the precision of financial modeling, assesses risks, and upholds underwriting standards for each investment. Beyond his analytical duties, he optimizes workflows and business-plan execution, leveraging his VP-level experience at major financial institutions to lead teams and asset manage transactions effectively. Jesse holds a Master of Real Estate Finance degree from Georgetown University and a Finance degree from Brigham Young University. 

Christopher Williams

 Head of Business Development & Investor Relations

 Christopher brings nearly a decade of experience in multifamily real estate finance to MIG, where he oversees business development and investor relations. He is also a Relationship Manager at Freddie Mac’s Multifamily Affordable Housing Division where he manages transactions and client relations for the largest multifamily lender in the U.S., executing over $6 billion in deals with major operators. At MIG, Christopher focuses on expanding the capital base and fostering relationships with current and potential investors while aligning with strategic partnerships for optimal execution. As head of Investor Relations, he organizes investor meetings to update stakeholders on portfolio performance and investment opportunities. His proven track record with Freddie Mac and leading multifamily developers positions him to effectively drive MIG’s mission. He graduated from the University of Tampa with a Finance degree and is concurrently working towards achieving a Master of Real Estate Finance from Georgetown University. 

Jordan Wong

 Head of Acquisitions & Captial Markets

 Jordan brings nearly a decade of multifamily real estate experience to MIG, where he leads acquisitions and capital management. He focuses on sourcing deals, acting as the liaison with investment sales brokers, and locating off-market opportunities. Utilizing his background in underwriting and capital markets execution, Jordan evaluates prospects and leads capital structuring efforts. Currently, he serves as Vice President of Originations at Dwight Capital, a major FHA/HUD multifamily lender. Before this, he was a Portfolio Manager at Dwight's mortgage REIT, where he screened $2+ billion in loans and underwrote and closed $600+ million in value-add, construction, and bridge loans. Earlier in his career, he underwrote $500+ million in FHA/HUD loans and screened $5+ billion in conventional and affordable Freddie Mac loans. Jordan graduated from George Mason University with a Finance degree.
